It's not over yet but I hope my story helps others realise there is hope if you stick to your guns.
I've just received an official decision from ICO, the two main points are below. If I remember, I'll upload the decision in full.
1. I have considered the information available in relation to this complaint and I am of the view that Northridge Finance have not complied with their data protection obligations.
2. If you are seeking personal redress or compensation for the way an organisation has dealt with your personal information, you will need to pursue this independently through the courts or with an industry's own ombudsman or regulatory body.
I'll obviously pass this onto FOS to see what they think.
