  • Can anyone help - Close Brothers Motor Finance PCP Deal coming to an end

    Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well? I was wandering if someone can shed some light to this crazy situation.

I took out a PCP deal with close brothers 3.5 years ago on a BMW with 56,000 miles.
In June 2020 the vehicle is due to be handed back. When i initially took out the agreement i did not read that it only allows 8000 miles a year. I am now touching 125,000 miles.
To just top things off last week the car had a major oil leak which has now been repaired. But the mechanic has advised the car requires a new engine as there is a drastic loss of power, something to do with the crankshaft. Im stuck now as i have a car thats over the mileage and also faulty.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Can i get out of paying the excess mileage?
Can i exercise a VT? If so do they check over the engine as well?
Will i need to repair this before?

    Thank you all

Apologies if i have posted this on the wrong thread.
