  • VT with Black Horse - £75 Collection Fee

Hi there, I have just got off the phone with Black Horse to get the ball rolling with my VT. They told me that if I go ahead with the VT, there are 2 options: car collection @ £75 or drop it off at my nearest auction site.

I asked where the nearest auction site to me is and she wouldn't tell me, instead said this would be made clear in the pack. I told her that I'd already taken out some legal advice regarding the £75 collection fee and that they had no right to charge me that but she didn't seem interested in entertaining the conversation and said she will just send out the pack and let me decide once it arrives.

    So my 2 questions:

    1. I'm based in Liverpool, does anyone know where the nearest auction site that Black Horse deal with is, based on past experiences?
    2. Having had a quick read through some other threads, I know the £75 collection fee shouldn't be paid but what are the actual steps to telling Black Horse that? I've seen people mentioned template letters but I can't seem to find them on this forum.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

So spoke to them again and told them that £75 fee was not in my contract anywhere and got put through to a manager. He seemed panicked that I kind of knew what I was talking about and agreed to waive the collection fee.*

He’s put a note on my account and told me what to write when the VT pack arrives so that’s an improvement...

So what happens next in regards to collection? Will they inspect the vehicle at my house and that’s that? Or will it be taken away for further checks? I only ask as I want to get a new car finance deal set up during the handover but don’t want to be left paying for a new car and then a big unexpected bill lands from Black Horse!

Which form? There are many templates - I just don’t want any liability once it leaves my house...
