Hi
I've having a bit of bother with Startline, not the first person I know!
When they collected the car two burly hairy men turned up, shoved on the back of a wagon and just went.... Took about 10 mins start to finish. They didn't offer me any paperwork and did not even look round the vehicle to inspect it.
Now I have sent photos to startline which contradicts their damage claims but they are having none of it and have placed a default on my credit file, but say the account is closed???
So I have sent them the following email kindly asking if they can send me a copy of the FIRST inspection report carried out when the vehicle was collected and also a copy of the second report which was carried out at Mannheim just before auction. My theory is that if ever ends up in court I will argue that the damage (which I know it was) was inflicted between collection and the Mannheim inspection, which I know they can't provide as no first inspection was carried out! The email is as following....
Dear Sir/Madam
Please note that this is NOT a complaint and merely a request under the Consumer Credit Act.
In relation to the alleged damage charges upon the Voluntary Termination of the above agreement, I would really appreciate it if you could send me the following documentation to support the charges;
1. An itemised invoice for the alleged damage charges and photographs from the second inspection report (carried out at the auction centre) sent to you by Mannheim.
2. A copy of the first inspection report that should have been carried out in my presence upon the collection of the vehicle.
Also please could you confirm as recommended that you are in fact a member of the BVRLA.
The above information would be preferable to be received by email and is just so I can gauge the charges for myself and to make sure that there is no discrepancies between the inspection that should have been carried out when the vehicle was collected and the second inspection carried out just before auction. To show whether any damage was caused BETWEEN the vehicle leaving my home address and when it went into auction.
If I do not receive the above information then unfortunately I am unable to adhere to the charges as they could be for anything and may have happened anytime between the first inspection at my home address when the vehicle was collected and the second inspection at the auction house.
Please note this not a complaint I am merely requesting the first and second inspection reports to satisfy myself that no damage occurred between collection and auction.
Kind Regards
Anything else I could add would be much appreciated
Thanks
Jamie
