Hi,
I have sent a VT notice to my finance company ( from your template - thankyou)
and they replied the next day by email. They told me a company would contact me to arrange me to drop off at a location. Or charge me for them to pick up. Now I know the form, in that they have responsibility to pick the car up, but I am happy to indulge them and don't mind taking the car to a site within 20 miles.
The car is over 7 years old. When I purchased it was 5 years. The car had minor damage to it when I acquired. The damage is around the front end. I, don't know too much about cars and what to look for over and above the obvious but was told recently that the bonnet looks as if it has been resprayed or touched up and not to a particularly high standard. Now these issues were there before I purchased the car but am now concerned they will try and pin the damage on to me. I have looked after the car very well while in my possession with not even a new scratch in nearly 3 years. Just a little alloy curbing on the wheels. The car was below market value at the time which reflected the minor damage.
I have some queries if anyone can help.
Where do I stand on this old damage?
Do I refuse to sign the assessment.?
The next HP payment is due shortly, If I refuse to sign the assessment will they see as not completed and therefore take another payment.
I appreciate these are before event questions but I am just trying to be prepared
Thanks for your help
