Hi everyone,
just after a bit of advice here. I’ve reached the half way point on my car finance with moneyway and want to VT.
I've sent the letter off and had one response saying I can’t terminate as they terminated my account in feb 2019 which I couldn’t understand why. I had a second letter dated the following day saying they couldn’t proceed because I hadn’t signed the letter. I know there is no requirement to sign the letter. So I’ve given them a call and they say they terminated in feb 2018, I fell into arrears back then and missed a few payments. I got a payment plan in place though and got my account back on track, my account is currently up to date.
I understand that I can’t terminate an agreement that has already been terminated however I was of the understanding that once my account was brought up to date my account would be reinstated. I’ve had no letter to say otherwise.
i told them I will be making a complaint about this.
My question is, would I be wasting my time in putting this to the financial ombudsman once I get a response about the complaint? Or do I have to accept that unless I voluntary surrender I have no choice but to keep going with my payments?
thanks in advance
Aaron
