I sent my VT letter on 4 March and have just spoken to VW Finance who confirmed my letter was received 5 March but it takes 72 hours for my case to be sent to the correct team and then when the team send it to the BCA they should contact me in 10 working days to arrange an appointment (I did call the BCA first and in my area there is roughly a 2 week wait for the car to be collected - not taking into account people's experiences of them cancelling appointments!). My concern is that the tax/insurance runs out/first MOT is due at the end of March - I will be actively chasing VW and the BCA but what happens if the car isn't collected by the 31st March? I understand that it's not really my problem now - I've given them the instruction to VT and it's up to them to arrange collection in a reasonable time (i.e 14 days) but I feel the reality of the situation may be somewhat different! Will they cause problems if the tax/MOT isn't valid when they eventually collect it?
Any experience or guidance gratefully received!
