Have you had any luck with the small claims court? I purchased an £8k vehicle from them at the end of June with only 29k on the clock.
After 45 days the gearbox started crunching. Outwith my 30 day warranty I took it to my local garage. They replaced the clutch and flywheel at a cost of £1300. Problem still existed so they inspected the gearbox which was faulty but oil was brand new. At a cost of £1700 for an overhaul I contacted Redburn via the standard letter quoting consumer rights act 2015.
Like yourself I was passed on to Lee. He said they wished id have phoned straight away but I explained I am in Edinburgh. They said they could pick the vehicle up on a transporter and would do so in order to inspect the gearbox (this was in Aug).
They asked me to send part numbers which I did but apparently they never got them. Sent them again and still nothing. Phoned them today and they accused my garage of carrying out unnecessary work (yet refused to speak with my mechanic when he phoned them) and refused to reimburse me the difference for what it would have cost them to fix.
They said to me today they couldn't collect the vehicle for another 3 weeks due to staffing issues (putting us into Oct when my vehicle has been off the road since 17th Aug) but failed to give me a collection date. I have not been offered a courtesy car
Will the courts look at this as a reasonable amount of time to resolve the issue or if I don't hear back from them within a week should I just begin with court proceedings?
