Hello
Really hoping someone can give me some good advice please.
I currently work at the NHS and pay a monthly fee to park in the hospital grounds in staff parking bays. Last year the parking eye system was introduced and I know there have been numberous issues with this.
One day when I arrived at work I could not find a staff parking space after driving around for 20 minutes I phoned the reception for parking and I informed them there were no spaces. They informed me I would have to either park outside the hospital or pay for a staff space. I said I could do neither as I really needed to get into work and I did not have any money on me. I eventually found a space but unfortunately it was not a staff bay and was a disabled bay there were about 6 spaces in the disabled parking area. I did not pay any extra costs and informed the office I had to park there as I needed to get to an important meeting in the hospital.
I have raised this issue with many hospital staff and have not had any response from anyone.
I received a parking eye fine which I appealed against and it was rejected. I am wanting to appeal in the POPLA but just wondering how I go about it. Is the actual problem with the hospital and am I wasting my time. Is there any change of winning this case?
The reason given for rejecting my appeal was for not supplying sufficient evidence to show the terms and conditions stipulated on the signage were not broke. I know I should not have parked there but had no other choice.
Any advice much appreciated.
Lucy
