Very interested to read the above - I didn't know anything about the consent option.
Basically, I received a few Parkingeye tickets, which as per old advice - I ignored. This all happened mid - late 2013. I do remember receiving a letter from 'Northampton County Court' - however I distinctly remember typing in the address stated on the letter for the court and comparing it with the address found through searching on google - they didn't match. This, combined with the odd looking printed stamp (as opposed to a real stamp) on the letter, and the knowledge of scare tactics that Parkingeye use - I made the huge mistake of ripping this mail up too. After this, I do not remember receiving any further mail (ie. I didn't open a judgement letter), however I do not know how I would ever prove this.
Anyway between January 2014 - March 2014 I bought a new house under the help to buy / government equity loan scheme. The timing really was lucky here - the CCJ was actually put through in February, but apparently doesn't get picked up on a credit report for around a month after - my mortgage was finalised during this period I believe.
HOWEVER, obviously having ccj impacts my options. I am considering another job which would involve relocation and potentially a new mortgage. I only found out about my CCJ when attempting to order a mobile internet contract through EE when I had just moved into my house and was declined (would have been April-May 2014) - after which I reopened my experian account and found the bad news. It was for between £250-£300 which I paid straightaway. The advice I was given around this time was that the only way the CCJ could be removed is if it was set aside - however I would need solid grounds for this - which apparently I didn't have.
So my question is - will Parkingeye sign a consent form for removing my CCJ if I ask them? Is there any particular way I need to approach this communication? Is it too late to do this given it was over a year ago?
Some further information that may be useful is I believe I still have around £150 in unpaid tickets to Parkingeye. These were in place when I called them to pay the balance of my CCJ, however the operative on the phone told me I didn't have to pay that to have my CCJ settled - so I didn't. Would this be beneficial in terms of providing them an incentive to sign a consent form.
I really can't believe I let this happen over such a small amount (in context) - one of the things I have done in my life that I genuinely regret. I am excited to learn that there even may be the possibility of this CCJ being removed from my file. In any case, please tell me if I have misunderstood here, or alternatively if anybody could offer advice on my situation - I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks in advance.
