  • MET parking services fine

Hi there, Ive just received a PCN from MET Parking services. I was parked in a bay at BP petrol station after using the service station for fuel. They state i was there for 67min yet state i was only allowed 30. I was under the assumption that this rule was for those not using the facilities at the service station. But today i have received a charge from MET parking services. Can anyone advise pleaae, What am i to do now?
    Many thanks.

So on 15th May write to MET
        :
        Dear Sirs,
I have received your Notice to Keeper xxxxx for vehicle VRM xxxx
You have failed to comply with the requirements of Schedule 4 of The Protection Of Freedoms Act 2012 namely, but not limited to, failing to specify the period of parking to which this notice applies as prescribed by section 9 (2) (e) of the Act. You cannot, therefore, transfer liability for the alleged charge from the driver at the time to me, the keeper.
There is no legal requirement to name the driver at the time and I will not be doing so.
I do not expect to hear from you again, or your debt collectors, except to confirm that no further action will be taken on this matter and my personal details have been removed from your records.
        Yours etc

Send first class with free certificate of posting from post office.

Don't expect MET to accept this as a valid appeal, as accepting appeals doesn't produce an income, but it is a valid defence
        Do not identify the driver

Hi DES8 , are you able to help?!

Okay the 3rd of may , i was picking a friend up from the airport and i was hungry after my 3 hour drive so i stopped to mcdonald’s. I went inside after parking up at the front of the car park. ( saw no signs from where i was parked ) i went inside and i waited around 20/30 minutes for my food as it was friday evening it was very busy and by the time i sat town and ate and had a toilet break i had overstayed by 16 minutes. i received a week prior for returning within the time period. But this just shows their is poor visabilty for the signage , their is only signs around the outskirts or the car park and with entering , but i parked in the middle and the front which in the middle their is no visible signage and the front their isn’t either. Please help if you can !!

It’s hard to see the signage coming in as their is always cars infront and behind you so it’s not like your able to stop and read whilst your in the car. I also paid for 2 meals so it turned out i brought £23 worth of food in the mcdonald’s that day which is more than it would’ve costed to stay in the short stay car park for the airport. I honestly did not see the signage . The parking charge notice is issued by MET PARKING SERVICES.

Please start your own thread and repost as hijacking another's thread only leads to confusion

When doing so, do not identify the driver. Just state the driver did this , that or the other.
Post up a redacted legible photo of the PCN. (use a hosting site if necessary), leaving in all dates and times

No other response will be made to you on this thread
