  • County court claim issued by CEL

    Hi all,
So I have received a county court claim on behalf of Civil Enforcement Limited. It states the original PCN was issued in 2017 and they are attempting to claim £236 in debt+damages. Unfortunately I let it get to this stage as I couldn't originally find the pay and display ticket I had bought for the car park (my mum got a PCN too and we BOTH had valid tickets on the day!) She paid hers to save hassle but in all honesty I don't want to pay it as I know I didn't overstay on the day & had a valid ticket which stupidly I got rid of. I know the first PCN came a while after the alleged contravention but don't have the original letters any more so not sure if it was within 28 days. I have never received images or proof of the alleged contravention but don't know if it's possible to argue it without having the pay and display ticket. Can anybody shed some light on next steps following acknowledging the claim. Can it be fought?

Would be grateful for any help!!

So modify the post so that the identity of the driver is not inferred. Use "the driver....."etc.

If there was no windscreen ticket was the PCN needs to be received within 14 days tobe able to hold the keeper liable.

Write to Gladstones demanding copies of all the documents they will be using in court. As these documents should be in their possession for due diligence in raising the claim you require the documents within 7 days,

So what does the particulars of claim say?
