Hello
I wonder if someone can give me some advice on how to respond to a parking charge notice i have received from Excel Parking (via ANPR) at our local Iceland.
The invoice is for £100 (£60 if paid within 14 days) for "parked without purchasing a valid pay and display ticket for vehicle registration mark". I was not the driver at the time, the driver says a ticket was purchased, a mighty sum of £1, half of the ticket was displayed, and the other half was handed over to the cashier to receive the £1 back. Everything perfectly normal for this Iceland. The mostly likely explanation is that the driver keyed in an incorrect registration as this is not their normal car. Unfortunately the purchase in store was made by cash and we did not keep the parking ticket (PCN was issued 1 week later). It is also worth pointing out that the parking attendant is known to the driver and passenger and he was present, evan assisted them, when they purchased the parking ticket. I can of course give them his name but no other detail,he is only an acquaintance.
Should i ignore, appeal/challenge or what i am leaning towards send them an e-mail to tell them they are wrong, i won't be paying and have nothing else to say on the matter?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
