  • Excel Parking Services fine

My partner recently received a Parking Charge Notice from the above company for "nor parking correctly within the markings of the bay or space" at the Peel Centre in Stockport.

She did this deliberately as the car in the next bay on the right was parked very close to the line, whilst the bay to her left was larger than a regular bay and, although there was a car parked in the space, there was still ample room so she straddled the line to allow space on either side of the vehicle.

The fine is £100 (reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days), but was just wondering if she could either a) ignore the notice, or b) if she should appeal against it?

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

definitely appeal (@mystery1 is great with these appeals)

Was it a "windscreen ticket" or a posted letter to the registered keeper ("Notice to Keeper")?? Can you post up a redacted pic of it (or email it to me - see the info in my signature - and I'll do it) xx

Wait for the notice to keeper to arrive via post between 28 & 56 days and then appeal

        Dear Sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver did not see the signs.

        Yours etc

Once rejected file an intent to appeal with https://www.theias.org/userguide/article/57 without naming or otherwise indicating who was driving. Let me know when they reply to that and what with.

In the meantime current pictures of the signs would be helpful. (leave the date/timestamp on on the camera)

I've been back today to take a picture of the large parking bay described, and also of the sign:

Shows quite nicely that the "fine" was not brought to your attention as per Parking Eye v Beavis.
