  • PCN after purchasing Ticket

On a visit to Omagh (Northern Ireland) parked in the car park and my husband put £1 in the machine pressed the green button. Ticket printed and I displayed in the front of the car like any other car parks. This giving us 1hr to shop. We returned to the car within approx 30 mind leaving half hour left on the ticket.

About 8 days later I have received a PCN from Smart Parking showing pictures of my car arriving and leaving the car park within about half an hour saying no ticket was purchased. £60 if paid in 14 days then £100.

I no longer have this ticket as it is not something I would usually keep. I have gone through all my bins trying to find it and searched round my car but it was cleaned out during the week.

    What should I do?

    thanks in advance

I believe in NI that only the driver can be liable who they don't know. there is no POFA. So it would be sensible to ignore, though I am not sure how the law works if you are in England.

Perhaps a letter to them, from the registered keeper, saying that there will be no payment as there is no keeper liability in NI and any further contact will be considered as harassment.

    Wait for others to comment.

I'd just ignore, but file unless court papers turn up at some time in the future, which is unlikely.
