Hi there,
I've been reading around the forums and wondered if someone could help me explore my options with this situation.
I received a parking fine from a different private company quite some time ago and in the process of moving house I forgot about it and nothing seemed to come of it. I assumed the same might be true of the fines below...
I received 2 parking fines for overstaying my visit at a gym car park on 2 different dates.
I've received reminders with photos of the license plate entering and exiting.
They had signage up for some months before they started enforcing. I got the 2 fines in quick succession so didn't have a chance to stop parking after the first fine.
Each fine is £100. It would have been £60 each I think if I had paid earlier.
I didn't appeal or request a POPLA, just ignored.
I've received a 7 day warning to pay up or else the fine might be referred to a debt collecting agency/court.
I can't appeal to the gym manager as I cancelled my membership in protest... It would have been potentially cheaper if I hadn't.
Do I have any options left do you think? One is to continue to ignore, but judging from the forum posts it seems they do follow up with the debt firm.
Thank you.
