Hi all,
I have had such an unlucky week. I have never had a PCN in my life right up until 10 days ago where I have somehow managed 4 parking charges!
It sounds ridiculous, and it is. My first was at Asda in and I was given a PCN by Smart Parking on the 20/7/2015 for overstaying by an hour and 20 minutes. I genuinely did not see any signs in the car park (although i do not doubt there were some) about a maximum amount of time, and I received 2 this week which shows that I really was oblivious. I was a customer at Asda but I also went to the library afterwards on both visits and sadly have no receipt and paid cash. My second was on the 24th where I overstayed by under an hour.
I have appealed both of these after reading the forums writing that it is an unreasonable amount and I had not seen the signs.
On the 4th of August I received another parking charge by MET by overstaying by 19 minutes at a car park at night time. There were absolutely no lit signs and I was a customer at Krispy Kreme with receipts to prove it, I have appealed this case and also emailed the store manager to complain.
Just as my bad luck seemed to at a limit, I received another one from Parking Eye at Morissons for the 29/7/2015. This is all crazy to me but I had overstayed by 37 minutes. Again, I did not see the car park signs and now I am being charged £100.
I am appealing all of these however I just don't know the odds that all of them will be accepted. This is one of the worst weeks ever, I cannot afford these charges and they are unreasonable since I have been a customer at every venue.
Can anybody let me know if POPLA would likely dismiss any of these charges after these appeals are inevitably rejected? I am quite worried about the Asda charge where I stayed over an hour because it seems like a long time even though I was unaware.
