Hi, I received a parking charge notice on 29/3/15 at stockley Pines golf club, the car park has 2 levels, the lower area is for the leisure facilities on site and unbeknowing to me the upper area is for the golf club( there was never restrictions when i lived in the area 11 years ago), both areas offer 4 hours free parking only the upper area is for the golf club, the parking signs area very similar but my partner and I failed to notice it states a voucher/permit from the golf club should be displyed in the windscreen, there are two ramps up to the upper area, the ramp i drove up didn't have no entry signs or signage to notify parking changes, after receiving the notice i looked on the other ramp, where there is a sign. on the day in question the lower car park was full, I was visiting the facilities to meet family to mourn our mothers passing, the weather was awful/storm force wind and rain, the upper car park was empty except for a couple of taxi's (definately no golfers were out on the course), I noticed on the day when i returned to my car to find the notice there were at least 2 more cars/drivers had made the same mistake as they had notices. The day after i received the notice I phoned the office of MET parking I was advised to appeal on line, which i did on 30/3, after reading some of your posts i fear i may have admitted parking improperly in my appeal!! I've not heard anything back from MET as yet, what is my next step? do I contact MET or wait it out?? the original charge was for £60 raising to £100 if not settled within 2 weeks, as you can guess finding money for that sort of fine is hard and somewhat annoying i would rather give the money to charity,
any suggestions you have would be appriciated.
