I received a pcn from future parking ltd for allegedly failing to pay for the duration of the stay. One hour was paid but spent one hour 14 minutes in their car park.
My question is because future parkings meter didn't have card payment and only accepted cash, with no app or phone payments (very old fashioned in an increasingly cashless society future parking) it required a trip back to the car to find some cash, then had to pop in the pub attached to the car park to get change, staff were busy so took a wee while, then required to enter the cars reg in their machine. The car was literally brand new and only 30 minutes out of the car dealership so a check of the car registration was needed and there was always someone in the car whilst change was being sought
I'm led to believe from the bpa's website theres a 10 minute grace period, so technically the notice is for a 4 minute overstay? The photographic evidence supplied to prove their claim is a photo entering the car park and a photo leaving. Because the car was so new, and with being extra cautious with a new car, it took more time to drive in and out of the bay. There's no evidence of being in the bay that whole time and nothing on their signs stating that payment is for time on their premises rather than in the actual bays.
Also, I'm presuming due to postal strikes, their notice arrived 15 days after the alleged parking offence (but was dated as being issued 7 days after)
