  • What do I do please

    Hello.
I received the first letter and thought it was a scam, as I've never been to this location, then I realised it is my son's car. (He thinks he didn't need to pay for parking as he was using the cinema and didn't notice signage.) then weeks later I received another letter.
    I liked online it's a legal scam.
I changed the address on the DVLA website over 14 months ago.

What other information do you need to help me?

Please note I am very dyslexic, to me this means I my comprehension, reading and process times are very poor. Please make suggestions easy to read. Thank you.

The site says I'm not authorised and won't let me attach the letters

So if it is your son's car then change the V5 to show his name and address.

You write to Highview parking, ignore DCBL, and give them the name and address of your son and let him deal with the matter and remove any responsibility from you.

He can then take up the matter with the cinema and get the charge cancelled.

Send every letter first class with a free certificate of posting from a post office.

Thank you, does this mean change of ownership?
this won't look good in the log book? Adding another owner?

If you don't, you will continue to receive these things for all your son's parking tickets. But the things we do for our kids, eh?

Are you the registered keeper of your son's car?
Does he still live at your address?

If you are the registered keeper and he doesn't live at your address you could find yourself in trouble with DVLA.

Also what information did he give his insurance company?
If he has told them he is the registered keeper, when he isn't, he could have problems if he ever needs to make a claim.
They will have queried the position if he told them he was the owner, but not the registered keeper.
