Hello,
It would appear I'm one of an incredible amount of people stung by MET Parking!
On June 26 2017, the driver 'overstayed' at the McDonalds West Way, Chelmsford. They were actually having a business meeting, spending money on food and coffee, and overstayed the 90 minute limit by 100 minutes. Hadn't noticed any signs.
The fine came through the post with a cctv picture of my vehicle, addressed to 'Mr (my company name ltd). I spoke to the McDonalds manager and their customer complaints department, with no joy. Was told there was nothing they could do.
I followed the MET parking appeals procedure, using a template from elsewhere (I hadn't discovered this site!). Cited lack of signage and genuine customer. Appeal was rejected. Received a reminder notice saying I could no longer appeal to POPLA, and then a Final Reminder notice on 3rd October saying I have 14 days to pay before further action may be taken. They still don't know who the driver was, all correspondance is addressed to the company.
I am loathed to pay these chancers, what are my options?
Thanks in advance, great Forum.
