Hi, I received a parking charge notice from Civil Enforcement Ltd (CEL) 12 months ago. I'd parked in a car park that didn't require the purchase of a ticket, but did apparently require you to input car registration details on an ipad screen in the retail shop visited. I'd never seen this before and as a consequence, missed it completely.
I've been contesting the £100 invoice continuously and it's no surprise that I've been repeatedly ignored.
More recently I received a claim form from a county court business court, but like everything else received on behalf of CEL presumed it to be nonsense. I've not received a judgement for the claimant advise.
I've logged on to the MCOL government gateway site, but it now appears I'm unable to proceed other than to set aside the claim. This is not a process with which I have any familiarity, but it would appear that there is a cost implication.
I'm a little bit lost as to how I should proceed.
I know the original PCN is a sham, but I'm currently being asked to pay £350 for not having purchased a parking ticket that I wasn't expected to buy in the first instance!
Many thanks for any advice
