  • DRP Recovery for PCN fine - Should I pay it?

    Hi there,

I've recently received a letter from DRP on behalf of Excel Parking Services who claim that I did not have a valid ticket when parking. This is not the case, I have the ticket I purchased.

However, I moved in November and had not updated my details with the DVLA, which means that Excel have stated that they couldn't get hold of me and therefore passed the debt on. I contact Debt Recovery Plus and spoke to an incredibly patronising man who explained that as it has gone passed 28 days there is nothing I can do and I have no rights to appeal.

Is this the case? It doesn't seem right, even if my details were wrong with DVLA. I do still have the ticket, although I can see that instead of the vehicle reg it simply has an 'I' listed on it - invalid?!

It seems there are many people that have been in a similar situation, and I wondered if I had any legal case for not paying or if I should just pay?

I have until 9 March to pay £160.

I would email every company that ever contacts you and give them a scan of the ticket and a copy of http://nebula.wsimg.com/bfcdd95c68b8...&alloworigin=1

They won't let you appeal and will tell you to GTF but it will look good if you can produce all that evidence if it ever gets to court.

Then i'd file everything and see if they are stupid enough to try court. If they do defend it and if they don't, chuckle.
