I want some guidance on a private parking ticket I received.
I received a parking ticket in October in a car park outside my flat. My flat is within a gated community and car park within there is private. There is a sign on the gate stating 'private parking see inside for terms and conditions'. However, once inside there are two small signs which were not visible from where I had parked. Mainly due to the fact that they aren't visible due to no street lighting and they do not face the direction of the parking bays. I received the ticket late at night and so it was dark.
So, I have ignored all letters (2) and the ticket on my car windscreen. They have now passed the case to a debt collector. I can't challenge it no longer or even pay the charge. What do you advise?
Ignore the debt collector letter???
