  • Premier park parking charge notice first reminder

    Hi,

I hope you can help me. I received a pcn first reminder dated 15sept the other day saying payment of pcn is overdue and requesting payment of £100.

In terms of context and back ground, the car park is for a vets4pets establishment. There is a subway sandwich store between the car park, and the vets4pets. I was in the subway store for no longer than 5 minutes. I saw the parking signs on my return to the car, and queried it with the subway staff, and they said I should be fine. I also thought to phone the vets4pets store the following week and they said if I wasn't there too long I should be fine.

As a result of the above actions I was surprised by the first reminder as I have not received the first original pcn which is stated to be dated 17aug.

I know that I was parked in an unauthorised area, but I just feel slightly misled by various parties, and now don't even have the option of paying the reduced amount within 14 days (I know this as my wife has received a similar one of these for a different location before).

Also £100 seems disproportionate to a 5 minute infringement, but I appreciate that this is more of an unauthorised parking point so time is not really relevant to the offence.

Do have any basis for appeal, or will I have to suck it up and pay?

    Kind regards,

    Barry
