DRL recieved for parking fine

Hi
i have recieved a DRL for non payment of a parking fine. I work in a hospital and as parking is a premium, i parked in a disabled bay. Whilst i admit this may be morally wrong, is it correct that it is infact not illegal under the equallity act?
i have not responded to any letters from the company and consequently have now recieved this letter.
i would really appreciate any advice what to do next?

Hi and Welcome.
DRL = Debt Recovery Plus Ltd? (a debt collection agency)

If so presumably this is a letter requesting payment of the debt(?) allegedly owed to whoever runs the hospital car park.
Do they say that non payment will result in them advising their client of their client's options including court action?
If it does, I would just ignore it.
The parking management company already know their options and this is just a scare tactic.

As you are employed by the hospital, can they not have the charge (not a fine!) cancelled.

Yes, its a debt recovery agency (zenith collections) and the letter says they are now responsible for the collection of this debt. It also says that 'their intention is to collect this debt and pursue it to a legal conclusion if necessary' .
Still just ignore it?

Either contact the hospital and ask them to sort it or ignore and file everything aside from a proper letter before claim/action or court papers.

Got no hope going through the hospital...

The only other way is pay. No letter is going to help. Ignore or pay.

I had a similiar problem at a hospital car park where i work.
I very polite conversation and email to 'head of estates' explaining what happened and he may contact the company and cancel for you.

Just something else to try while you get the 5 letters a month offering a 'special discounted rate for this week only!!'
