  • Premier Park

Recently my daughter was taken into hospital so I had her car and headed off to occupy the children. I parked in a Premier Park in Brixham and by my own admission I inadvertently put my own cars registration into the machine upon paying. I returned to the car within the allotted 2 hours which I had paid for. My daughter then received a Parking Charge Notice of £60 rising to £100. Transference of liability notice then came to me and I appealed. Surely the parking machine which accepted my registration number has a memory and could be accessed to show I paid the correct time and would coincide with the photographic evidence all be it the wrong car. Should I proceed with an appeal to POPLA?

        Complain to the hospital/store/landowner.

        Appeal to premier :-

        Dear Sirs,

I wish to invoke your appeals process. The driver paid for a ticket.

Should you reject my appeal please supply a popla code.

        Yours etc

If popla is need let me know.

They have rejected my appeal and given me the POLA code and also said if I pursue POLA then I would be unable to take the early payment of £60 surely the machine within the car park would have a record of MY registration number to support my appeal.

You are making the mistake of thinking that they see that as not a problem. They (as in all private parking companies) see that as an entirely ok way to make money. They NEVER EVER uphold an appeal because an incorrect registration number is entered.

So would you suggest me going down the POPLA route and if so would you imagine there is a chance of success? Really appreciate your help

Becaus ethe driver has been named it vastly reduces the chances of popla success.

It's essentially going to boil to risking paying £40 extra against nothing if they fail to produce a contract or proper evidence of authority which many do seem to be struggling with at the moment.

Who does the car park belong to ? Complaining to them is a shot to nothing.
