  • UKPC Parking notice - help with popla letter?

    Hi there!
new to all of this so please bare with!
yesterday i parked my car in a retail park to grab some lunch, but i took up 2 spaces (due to having my car dented in this car park before) when i came back 15 minutes later i saw i had a parking ticket from ukpc. i thought this was extremely unfair because
    1. i was gone for no more then 15 minutes
    2. i had parked out of the way of the main car park area
    3. it was not busy at all, people were not fighting for spaces.
now ive read quite a few forums about these parking notices, loads of people say ignore it but ive now been informed that is not the thing to do.
i have already appealed the ticket with them and no surprise they rejected it, and now they've said i can go through popla to try and get it sorted. but in all honesty i dont think a 60 rising to 100 pound fine is quite fair for me being gone 15 minutes!
i can appreciate that they have rules, but there signs are quite high up and do have quite small lettering, i cant just be the only one who doesn't read those signs? or cant?
obviously ill get people saying i shouldnt of been parking like that, on a busy day i wouldnt of, but it was quiet and i didnt want my car to get dinged again, as i spent the best part of 400 quid having the bodywork sorted by my friend who owns a bodyshop.
if anyone can help me write a template for popla, or help me get out of this it would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks! (:

Generally in England and Wales it is bad advice to ignore now. However when you get a notice on the vehicle it is correct to wait because effectively any challenge is probably done by the driver as it is they who will have gotten the ticket.

Wait until you get a notice to keeper which MUST arrive within days 28 to 56. The problem UKPC have is that they have no access to DVLA records so how can they do it ? http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co...ported-as.html

File the ticket and await further contact.

Yes and the appeal you sent rather than their reply. (don't need names addresses etc.)

so attached should be my pcn, unfortunately i cannot remember word for word what my appeal said! but it was something along the lines of
today i received a parking ticket from your company and i was not best pleased. i was parked for no more then 15-20 minutes and when i came back out i found a ticket. i may of been parked across 2 spaces, but thats due to the fact i have had previous trouble in this car park where someone had dinged my bodywork, and i have just spent the best part of 400 pounds getting it repaired. the car park was not very busy (see your operators photos) and i had parked out of the way. i hope this can be resolved thank you.

like i said i cant remember exactly what i said ):
the dent part is true though but unfortunately i have no proof due to it being my friend the fixed the bodywork for me ):
hope this is of some help!

Re: UKPC Parking notice - help with popla letter?

Ok, well keeper liability is off the table. Penalties and unfairness after Beavis are also off the table although until popla actually rule on it i'd still put it in an appeal.

If the signs should have been seen or not is a point but i suspect not as you'd have mentioned it.

The reality is that to win at popla you'd need to question their right to operate and hope they don't submit sufficient evidence. This has won quite a few appeals but it's not guaranteed.

Very little. Only the case specific stuff you wish to add.

At point 2 (unfairness) delete (5) and if you have nothing to add it'll be ready.

another silly question, what category should i put my appeal under? should i just put it under other? or one of the main categories?
