Hi,
I've been looking around the internet to research what is best to do about a PCN, and have ended up going around in circles. I was issued with a PCN from Premier Parking Ltd on 19/10/15 and have been charged a fine for not buying a ticket when I parked in the Maritime Car Park in Falmouth.
I still had my parking ticket from when I stayed in this car park so checked the details. I realised that I did make a mistake by putting in the wrong registration into the car park ticket machine. I entered the first half of the registration incorrectly, I entered the first four digits from my previously owned car. Even though the details did not match, this still proves that I bought a parking ticket. So I sent an appeal to Premier Park on 24/10/15 stating this mix up and attached copies of the ticket, but they did eventually reply with a decline of appeal on 03/11/15.
Copy of appeal that I sent:
'Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to appeal against the parking notice that you issued on 19/10/15. Attached is a file of the ticket that I paid for, which I have only just now realised I accidentally put the wrong registration in (I mixed the first half of the registration with a car that I previously owned.) The enclosed file shows the date and time that I bought this ticket; which corresponds with your parking notice. I hope this is sufficient proof of purchase.
Kind regards,
Rebecca Witt'
I was hoping someone could help as to whether I still have grounds to appeal or whether this is my own fault and should just stump up the £100 fine. Surely Premier Park would have the incorrect registration on there system, so they could see that my ticket matches the registration and date and time it would have been entered?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
