  • parking eye, parking charge notice

I have on the 18th of March 2015 received parking charge notice of £70 but reduced to £40 if I pay within fourteen days. This occured on the 8th March 2015 in an Aldi car park on a Sunday morning at 10:31:41 am and my car departed the car park at 11:03:01am on the same day. On Sunday Aldi open at 10am. How are Parking Eye able to claim £70 when I have not overstayed the set parking times?. I have telephoned Aldi but claimed my registration number was not registered and I do not nor any members of my family have any record of purchase. This could easily have been made by cash. The woman I spoke to was terse and ill mannerd, very poor customer relations.

It's a pity you have no proof of purchase as Parking eye would usually cancel if provided with one. It take it the signs say you must enter the full registration number ?

Appeal to parking eye, asking for a popla code if they refuse your appeal!
Have you got (or can you get) pictures of the signs?

I have just posted a gripe about Parking Eye though I was in Aldi for 1 hour 41 minutes and I have received same. £40 now or £70 after 28 days. I have made numerous journeys to and from Monklands Hospital in past years and drop in at Aldi on the way home. I confess I have never paid attention to signs stating there will be a fine - I'm sure that was never the case in the past, so I am being asked to pay up. It works out at £4 per minute! What a joke. I've no idea whether you could just ignore the fine and let them take it further! Other than that maybe seek advice from Citizens Advice Bureau.
