Hi everyone,
I'm new here so excuse me if I type this post incorrectly.
I have just received a met parking services parking charge notice, stuck to my windscreen.
I was parked in a local business park that has a few restaurants. I've been going there for years and have always parked in the same spot. It gets quite busy as there is a virgin gym, Costa, greggs, subway.....you get the point.
There is a small section of the carpark which has never had parking bays marked up and ive usually parked against a hedge leaving plenty of room for other car park users.
However today I had notice some of the bays had been repainted, went for breakfast with family and when I returned to the car I found the parking notice. Then leaving the carpark I'd notice new signs had been put up.
The parking notice says I am required to pay £100 in the next 28 days for parking outside of a marked bay. If I pay within 14 days the charge will be reduced to £60.
I know these companies are taking the mick with charging people for overstaying. But do I have a leg to stand on? Am I able to appeal or refuse to pay ?
Thanks,
___
