  • Parking Eye issue at Watergate Bay

    Hi, first post.

My wife recently parked at the Parking Eye managed car park at Watergate Bay in Cornwall for 52 minutes where she visited the nearby Watergate Bay Hotel. She paid for the parking ticket, entered the Reg No but no ticket came out. She assumed that entering the Reg and that the coins dropped menat that it would register that she had paid. We have now received a PCN from Parking Eye. Sadly she also paid in cash whilst visiting the Hotel so can't prove she was there.

Any advice at all ? (What I can prove with parking tickets is that we had parked in the same car park during the same week and paid for a ticket).

I have seen plenty of web advice to ignore the PCN but should i at least get them to check that other drivers did not have the same issue on that day ?

    Appeal.

    Dear sirs,

I, as registered keeper, wish to invoke your appeals procedure. The driver paid for a ticket at xxxx(time) on this date and i believe the machine was faulty. In any event your charges are penal and not a genuine pre estimate of loss.

I am under no statutory obligation to name the driver and will net do so.

Should you reject my appeal please supply a popla code.

    Yours etc.

If they don't uphold the appeal edit http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...-Appeal-Letter to suit and you'll win at popla.

    It does work http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...pany-victories

M1, I have updated the link to the victories forum but to add here too that between ParkingEye and the owners of the private land, I have now had my PCN cancelled.

Thanks for your help along the way !
