  • Parking eye harrassment

Just looking for some advice, parking eye first sent me a letter saying that I had been in the ASDA, beach boulevard, Aberdeen. So I did as I have seen all over the internet and ignored the letter. They have now had Debt recovery Plu Ltd, bombard me with letters threatening court action.

On the day in question I went into the car park in around 8am and left 10-15min later, I went to work all day then just after 1700 I went back to the car park (I had left cash back at the til and returned to collect the money) I have sent them an email saying that I was in the car park twice and they claim that that is untrue, I have also sent a letter from my work signed by a senior manager that I was at work that day and my car was in the car park. I'm getting nowhere apart for received more demands for money (£135)

Will they actually take it as far as court? If so do they usually win?

Any help or advice would be great.

They need to know who was driving to go to court. There is no keeper liability in Scotland.

In Scotland, ignoring is best unless you get actual court papers which is very unlikely.

If they were to take you to court, you have an excellent defence in the form of your managers letter. You would also be able to demand that they produce the full continuous video footage, rather than selected highlights.

As a matter of interest, Parking Eye was recently acquired by Capita, who are also responsible for the millions of threatening letters sent out under the TV Licensing banner.

I should learn to read. As they know who the driver is

They may take you to court, although rare in Scotland.

They shouldn't win for a variety of reasons.

        Some consumers do win http://www.parking-prankster.com/court-cases.html
