  • DCBL - final reminder for parking charge in January 2020!

I have received a 2nd threatening letter from DBCL for a parking contravention in January 2020!
I was not aware of any contravention nor received any such notification from G24 Ltd .

the first letter states”you are no longer able to appeal the parking charge. The next opportunity to dispute the charge would be if the matter was taken to court’

I had to look up the address of the car park in question on google as it is in Salford & I live in Bolton. After 5 years I have no idea why my car would have been there and if it was my car what would have been the purpose of the visit or who was driving.

i had Intended to respond but was off work ill before Xmas and had not responded .

the second letter dated. 17 December ( which was received on 30 December) is now outside the 14 day threat of pay up or a claim may be issued against you, incurring further charges .

this final reminder is for unpaid parking charge £170! I never received anything before this and there is no explanation of how this charge became £170!

    Can you help please

Obviously G24 are short of cash and now looking to old cases to replenish their coffers

DCBL are toothless debt collectors, and never act reasonably or with empathy.

Eventually (if you don't pay) n the matter will be passed to DCB Legal (upstairs!) who will eventually issue a court claim.
When you receive a "letter of Claim" is the time to start responding.
It is possible to defend their claims and win (altho' the small claims track is a bit of a lottery)

DCB Legal are well known on these forums for issuing template claims like confetti.
To them it is a numbers game, if they win on percentages they will continue.

I would not engage with DCBL (seen too many of their blusters!) but would wait for the letter of claim from DCB Legal before disputing the matter.
If you should communicate with them at all, do not identify the driver as it may impact a court defence.
