  • Parking Charge Notice - Not received initial letters due to moving house

    Hi all,

I was issued a Parking charge notice from Euro carparks from a visit in Oct, I was in a rush and forgot to pay, I realised as I was leaving and took a picture of the sign intending to pay (there were no pay machines on site) it is my fault for not checking earlier but I am so used to pay as you leave carparks when they use ANPR at the front. I have recently moved address and was in the process of updating my details with the DVLA when the initial notice was issued. In early Jan I received a letter from Debt Recovery plus saying that they had had to use a trace to find me and I had missed two payment deadlines and I owed £170, I tried to call and gave up after an hour on hold then forgot about it until today when I received a new letter from debt recovery plus now saying I have missed 4 payment deadlines. I spoke to someone who was quite rude who said I had 3 options don't pay, pay £136 in full (removed the trace fee) or pay £170 in instalment fees.

I need some advice on how to proceed, I made a mistake so I would be willing to pay the original parking fee to avoid going to court but £170 is ridiculous.
