  • Threat of CCJ from BW Legal over parking ticket

I have received a claim form from county court business centre. Their claimant being BRITANNIA PARKING GROUP. This has been instructed by BW LEGAL.
I do not agree that I owe the money they are asking me to pay. It’s instructing that I parked on a private car park without payment. On the day in question there were multiple cars parked in the car park. The ticket machine was out of order and I called the number displayed on the machine on 2 occasions leaving 2 separate answering machine messages stating the pay machine was not working and that there was no other way for any payment to be made. I also displayed a note in my windscreen as well did other drivers. The cost to park for duration was total to £1:00. I am being asked to pay a total sum of £254:88.
I am at complete dismay over this action that they are trying to take against me and strongly disagree with the outlandish demand they are expecting from me, when all said I done I owe them £1:00.
Please I can have some help on how to handle this. Completed stressed out.
    Thanks
