Hi guys,
I am very new to this so my apologies if I have missed info or a step I should have taken before posting this.
I received a letter of claim from DCB Legal on the 10th December 2021 in regards to a friend apparently parking in breach of terms at a service station. I first received a notice to keeper from a company chasing the initial PCN in February/March 2018. The initial letter, which I did not keep (I know now I should have) claimed the driver had parked at MacDonald's for longer than allowed and as proof, it had two photographs. Both were time-stamped and the first was at about 11am showing the car entering and the 2nd about 8pm showing the car exiting. I ignored this letter for one good reason. The driver did enter the service station at 11am and then left again around half an hour later, and the driver returned around 8pm that night. The claim the car was there all day is false because after leaving York in the morning the driver spent the day working in Leeds before returning again that night on their way back from Leeds to get petrol. I believed the letters were just empty threats designed to make unwary drivers pay unwarranted fines. It is only now that I am being threatened with court that I feel I have to respond. Any help in deciding what the best next steps to take are would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
