Hi Guys
I was hoping someone could help me with a bit of advice. I used a car park on private land at the end of January and it was one of the ones where you have to put your number plate into the machine before you pay for your ticket. I put the first letter of my number plate in but then it wouldn't take any more so I paid and put the ticket in my car. I paid for two hours and was in the car park for just under two hours. The ticket only had M printed on it, which is the first letter of my number plate, but if also had the time I bought the ticket, time it expired and 312185 on the bottom of the ticket, which I assume if the reference number for the parking machine.
A couple of days ago I got a a fine through the post from Premier Parking Solutions, saying they had photos of me on an ANPR camera entering and leaving the car park but had no trance of my payment so said there was a £100 fine, reduced to £60 if I paid before 14 days. I had kept the ticket so appealed the fine and sent a copy of ticket explaining that the machine wouldn't take my number plate and just asked for payment.
I got a reply saying my appeal had failed because there was no trance of anyone else having a problem with the machine and my ticket wasn't valid because the number plate wasn't printed on the ticket. It shows I paid and didn't stay any longer than I paid for but they said I breached the terms and conditions.*
The appeal process with Premier Parking Solutions is finished now so is it worth me appealing with POPLA or just sucking it up and paying the £60?
Many thanks in advance for any advice you can give me
Steve
