1st time posting so wish me luck. My partner and I parked in the tariff street car park in Manchester. My partner drives a Vauxhall vivaro van. We entered the car park found a space and went off to buy a ticket. As any normal human being does we began to read the sign at the top, found the info we required ie how long we wanted to stay and the cost of this. We had to enter the ref number into the machine and we paid the price for 2 hours. We returned after 1 hour to find a ticket on the van that stated reason was invalid ticket. We had no idea what we had done wrong. We emailed sip and they informed us that there is a different tariff for vans (£25 flat fee). To be fair we have been back to the car park and at the very bottom it does say this information however I still can’t help but feeling it’s a bit rubbish. What is the point of inputting a registration other than for their own means? Surely by inputting the registration of a van and the machine then allowing me to purchase a ticket for a car this is a fault?
I would be be really grateful if anyone could advise. Thank you
