Should I Appeal

Hi, I’ve been slapped with a PCN by Birmingham CC for not displaying my parking ticket. I read a sign on the machine that said I didn’t need to display my ticket. In hindsight I think it must only apply to electronic or phone payments possibly.
The car registration and out time are on the ticket I did purchase, so it can be seen it is payment to park my car. Has anyone appealed and won in a similar situation? Or should I just cough up?

So you bought a ticket at the machine, but didn't take it back to put it in the car because you misread the sign saying "no need to display a ticket" ( which yes, only applies to those using the ring go app as their reg number is on the attendants system )

Have you got a pic of that sign in context with the other signs / machine etc around it to see if it is misleading at all ?

The only other photo I took was the front of the machine, which also said, ‘No need to display a ticket.’ Stupidly I didn’t read the big daily tariff sign board which did say it was pay and display. *♀️ Totally my error for only reading the signage on the machine.
