  • Met parking/drp

Hi all just looking for some advice which in sure has been answered before.

i have recieved a parking charge notice for overstaying in a mcdonalds car park. The charge was £50 if paid within 14 days. 14 days has since passed and I have recieved a letter from debt recovery plus limited stating that i must pay £160 within 14 days or court action may happen. Wheb i rang drp i got no help and simply got told i have to pay.

shall i ignore the letter? Upon finding various articles on the internet i have found a lot of people stating these letter should be ignored As they aren't parking fines and they are just invoices. Any advice would be great appreciate.

You most definitely don't ignore. That way lies court claims.

Note that DRP are stating may start legal proceedings. If that were the case then they wouldn't get paid so not exactly a good business plan.

As they don't know the identity of the driver, and make sure you don't tell them, then they have to comply with the requirements of POFA to hold the keeper liable. No more phone calls just in case.

Post up both sides of the Notice to Keeper, suitably redacted, but leave the dates.
