Looking for some advice, I moved into my flat (private) in Feb 2016 and was advised by the estate agent that there was no parking available for half of the residents. Anyway I got my husband to check to see who owned the car park (UK Car Park Management) and I called them to see if I could get a permit. Spoke to a woman who took my address and she stated that I didn't need a permit.
So parked in the car park and two days later I received a PCN. I did call and ask why I had received the notice, only to be told that I did need a permit.
I explained the previous phone call and they wasn't interested.
I then proceeded to park at the back of another shop after making arrangements with the owner. That was fine up until about a year and few months ago. Having no other choice (not allowed to park on the street) I started parking back in the car park.
Now after months of ignoring the PCNs (stupid I know but I had an extremely tough time last year) today I have received a claim form from County Court Business Centre for the amount of £250.58. But the one thing that baffles me is that the claim is for a car I no longer have and the date for the charges is 02/06/2017. Yes i received the PCNs but not at anytime did I get a letter about going to court over it? So what do I do with it? Do I still contest it? I am also expecting another claim to come through for my new car.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
