Licence revoked without proper medical assessment or copy of police report

My father received a letter in December 2023 from the DVLA informing him they had received a police report which cast doubt on his ability to drive and required him to attend a medical examination with his Doctor. He attended his appointment which resulted in the DVLA revoking his driving licence. He feels he has been wrongly treated. He has never had an accident before or had any trouble with the police so he is utterly baffled by this and the fact that he lives in the countryside with no access to public transport makes his situation more distressing.
Is he entitiled to receive a copy of the police report given to the DVLA so that he may be at least aware of the allegations made against him?
He is physically well and so assumes that the medical examination had to do with his mental ability as he is in his seventies. Its clear his Doctor's short meeting with him in no way constituted a proper medical/mental assessment. Can anybody cast light on his situation and advise him as to what he can do to recover his licence? Can he go to another Doctor for an independent assessment? Thank you in advance for any help

I don't understand what you mean by "assumes that the medical examination had to do with his mental ability as he is in his seventies.". Being in your 70s isn't a medical condition or illness. Does he actually have a mental health illness or medical condition?

Yes. He is entitled to see anything that his doctor holds concerning him. Any half-decent doctor would have copied the report to him anyway. But if he hasn't seen the report, that would be the place to start.

Yes you are right. For some reason the police sent a report concerning his driving to the DVLA. They then required him to undertake a medical examination. He has no medical condition that would affect his driving ability so we assumed it would be to do with an assessment of his mental capacity. He has no record of mental illness - with age he has started to forget things and repeat himself but nothing serious. The actual reason for the examination was not made clear to him, neither did the Doctor let him know what was in the report he sent to the DVLA so the resulting revocation of his licence came as a shock.
