Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB)- best course of action

Hello

some drove into the back of me several months . the person did stop and I got his car reg and mobile number. it turns out that he is not insured. I reported it to the police, but they did not seem that interested.

my insurance company rang and said I would need to get the car repaired and pay the excess then claim off the MIB

I then got a call from my insurance legal team saying they would act on my behalf. today , I get a load of forms sent to and of them is the MIB from. looking at the forms from my insurance company , it states that they will get 25% of any award I get and other expenses cost.

I am questioning the value of their service and asking myself , why don't I just go direct to the MIB myself


anyone had a similar issue ???

Because if you have comprehensive insurance the MIB will not accept a claim from you!

You refer to the "insurance legal team".
Is this because you have "legal Expenses Cover" and have put a claim in with them?
Did they say what acting on your behalf involved?
Could you name your insurers and provide a link to their policy wording?
Are you anticipating suing the other driver for your uninsured losses, or for all your losses?
How much is your excess and other uninsured losses?
