  • Uninsured Car damaged by scaffolders on drive.

Basically i have a car on my drive at home thats uninsured as im waiting to have its registration moved to the uk from the isle of man. We recently had scaffolders in and they dropped a pole on top of the car which has basically written the car off. The roof has caved in and the windscreen is shattered.
They are saying because the car is uninsured all they can offer is 200? Is this correct even though the car was on our property? I payed over 300 for the car and have had to now go out and get another as the car is irreparable.

    Hi and welcome to LB.
The fact the car is uninsured does not relieve the scaffolders from their liability for its full value.
Write to them, telling them you hold them fully liable for the damage and you require reimbursement for the full amount, plus any costs in disposing of the wreck.
Faiure to respond will leave you no option but initiate court proceedings.
Advise them to inform their liability insurers.
