Speeding ticket Scotland

Hi, I'm looking for some advise. I was driving through a town in Scotland and was caught doing 40mph in a 30mph zone (was starting to speed up as it was within 200 yards from the national speed limit zone) where I was viewed by a mobile speed van. This was on the 9th of December in a company van, I advised my employer of this incident as a pre warning to them. A letter came to my employer dated the 16th of January. Is this still valid as it's been so long?

If this letter was a Notice of Intended prosecution (NiP) it has to be issued within 14 days of the alleged offence.
Would appear tobe out f time.
Any chance you could post up a suitably redacted copy?

The first NIP has to be within 14 days. Is your company van leased? Who has the V5C, or is the registered keeper.
This NIP might well be the second one, not the first.
