  • Congestion Charge Penalty - London

    Hi,

I travelled to London Goswell road on 2nd of September and I have received a PCN from London Congestion Charging for the reason being, the use of a vehicle on a road in the charging area to which a charging scheme applies without payment of the appropriate charge.

That was the first time I was travelling to that location and had no idea what congestion charging system was in london.

I am asked to pay 65£ within 14 days otherwise will have to pay 130£.

Is there a way to get through this, or do I need to pay the fine now.

Any help is appreciated on this.

    Regards

      Hi
The congestion charge for London is well known (goodness even in West Wales we've heard about it!), and it is signed as you enter the area.
Although it is payable before entering, you can also pay the charge the next day.
I'm afraid pleading ignorance of the charge isn't going to get the penalty removed.
If it worked like that no one would pay it
