  • Was sold a lemon need advice

Bought a car a few days ago advert described good condition for age, had a full service history with timing belt change everything seemed above board so went ahead and bought it. Got ten miles down the road and temp gauge was in red, pulled over managed to get the wife to get some water but that just ran out the bottom of the radiator. Stuck at the side of the motorway with two young children in the car.
Managed to get a mechanic with a bar to recover the vehicle and he has had a brief look and advised the radiator was seriously corroded and it looks like this has contributed to head gasket damage.
The seller has said as I drove it round the block sale of goods doesn't apply and I can go do one when my wife contacted him( I have a neurological disorder that hits me bad especially when stressed).
He also said to my wife he buys and sells cars regularly and this has never happened before, alarm bells started to ring so we scoured the internet and found evidence of previous car sales albeit on Facebook but nothing very recent.
We are absolutely sickened and so demoralised at the moment any help would be grateful
