  • Parking fine Scotland

    Hello

In March 2014 we were doing a cleaning job for a housing association in Edinburgh. We parked in the car park of the housing association in order to do this. On 2 occasions we received a parking ticket from Smart Parking Ltd.

    We ignored them.

We received a few more letters, including from DRP (Debt Recovert Plus Ltd).

Now, the fines are at £160 each and the last letter says:

Notice of intended court action - unpaid parking charge £160
We refer to our letter dated 12/05/14, and note that we have not yet received payment of the amount shown above.

To prevent this case bein passed t the creditor's solicitor to commence course proceedings, you must pay the full amount of £160 by 10/06/2014 (see overleaf for more information regarding liability for this charge). etc etc

    Then it says:

If you are liable for this charge and do not pay the full amount by 10/06/2014, or if you have not agteed a payment option with us by then, we will pass your file to the creditor's solicitor with a recommendation to commence court action against you. A court judgement against you could seriously affect your ability to obtain credit in the future.... ETC

We have never answered anything and they don't know who was driving the vehicle.

    Please advise!

    Thanks
    Malcolm

    File and ignore.

There is no keeper liability in Scotland. Who are they going to take to court ?
