  • VCS County Court Case

    Hi Everyone,

I have been summoned to appear at County Court to answer a case for a unpaid parking notice from VCS which was issued in April 2018. The back ground to the saga!
I was a private tennent in a small city centre apartment block which also include a parking space, of which a permit had to be displayed. For almost a year the permit was displayed; however one evening the permit feel into the footwell of my car so wasn't on show. Bosh... a VCS operative jumped on the opportunity and stuck a parking notice on the car over night.

The following day I contacted the landlord to request they contact VCS to strike off the ticket. I was advised I need to complete VCS online appeal form; which I did. Fast forward 3 years (June 2020) I received a letter from VCS at my new address demanding I pay up the ticket or they will take me to court.

Firstly after the online appeal form was completed I never heard back from VCS so assumed the ticket had been revoked as I was the lawful tennet of the prive property and had an official parking space there which was also in my tennet agreement. I moved to my new address about 2 weeks after the ticket was issued, all mail was forwarded to my new address as I had paid for the Royal Mail redirection service.

I have uploaded all documents for this case along with photographs of the signage at the time of the ticket. Note that VCS contract with the landlord (large social housing provider) was terminated not long after my ticket due to VCS ticketing bodified tennents left right and centre.

Can someone please advise me on what defence I should have please.

    Hello, a couple of questions.

Do you have pictures of the signage and its terms and conditions for parking?

What was the date of the claim form, and have you acknowledged the claim?
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

Have you a copy of your tenancy agreement at that time showing that you had the right to park.
